Take your students to a new level of critical thinking and collaboration as they work with historic documents via Google Classroom. Google Classroom is the perfect place to model habits of historical thinking and document analysis. Participants will learn the possibilities of using Google Classroom as a collaborative environment where students can analyze primary source documents. The very basics of Google Classroom will be explored as will other apps such as Draw, Docs, Sheets, and Forms.

See students highly engaged in their work and get them thinking with QR Codes! Whether in a 1:1 or shared iPad classroom, iPads can take students from being just consumers of content into creators. With just three apps (Book Creator, PicCollage, Chatterpix Kids) students can create numerous projects that cover many different content areas and standards. From showing how illustrations support the text to demonstrating ways to compose numbers, these three apps will open up the possibilities for creating projects that give students authentic practice with the standards.

Be Phenomenal! Using Natural Phenomena in Science to Drive Inquiry and Engagement
In this episode, we will explore phenomenon-based learning (the other PBL) and how it can be used to drive NGSS instruction. We will use actual phenomena to practice effective questioning, which can be a starting point for project-based learning, research assignments, or scientific investigations. We will also spend time sharing and exploring resources for finding awesome natural phenomena. While mostly focused on science, the strategies in this episode can be used across curricular areas, and all grade levels can benefit!

We will look at how to use Google Classroom, Seesaw, Osmo, and Padlet for assessment, feedback, and documentation. We will explore how blended literacy addresses ELA Common Core Standards.
